An antique is a piece of furniture that is valued for its age and rarity. Much like vintage furniture, antiques are sought after for maturity, excellence, and enduring appeal. The furniture’s condition, utility, and other unique features add to an item’s collectability. MBW endeavors to find the best antiques available on the market.
In the United States, antique furniture must be at least 100 years old. Mass production began around 1830, and a tariff in 1930 set the 100-year mark. In Europe, antiques must have been made by hand (before 1832 and Industrial Revolution). Therefore, today’s vintage furniture will be tomorrow’s antiques.
Mahogany, oak, pine, walnut and rosewood are favorites for American and English antiques. MBW Furniture features vintage furniture and antiques from the Queen Anne, Jacobean, Sheraton, Georgian, Hepplewhite, Victorian, Chippendale, Colonial, Edwardian, and other periods.

French and Italian reproductions originate at our facility in Egypt, where old world building techniques still flourish. MBW custom built furniture is special ordered from our overseas facilities.
